GST, the Goods and Services Tax, was launched in India, replacing multiple levels of taxation by state and central government, on 01 July 2017. The announcement of the GST was done by The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee and The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Even though after 05 months there is an ambiguity about the products exempted from GST.
